Wine-Specific Conditions

Legal Requirements: You must be 21 years of age or older, to order or receive wine from Caldwell Family Vines. Receipt of shipments containing alcoholic beverages requires the signature of a sober adult (a person 21 years of age or older who is not intoxicated). Wines purchased from Caldwell Family Vines are not for resale and are for personal consumption only.

Title and Ownership: Title to, and ownership of, all wine passes from Caldwell Family Vines to the purchaser within the District of Columbia. Purchaser takes all responsibility for the shipping it from the warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the wine, Caldwell Family Vines is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service from Caldwell Family Vines, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of wine and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

Credit Card Charges

Orders are by credit card only. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Purchasing Wine

Wines may be sold and delivered only to a person who is 21 years of age or older. By placing an order, you represent that (1) you are 21 years of age or older, (2) the person to whom any wine will be delivered is 21 years of age or older, and (3) your purchase of wine is not for resale, commercial or otherwise. No minimum purchase is required.

Shipping Costs

UPS is our default carrier. Fedex may also available. Ground shipping is provided by UPS Ground or Fedex Ground, as applicable, at current market rates.

Wine is a Delicate Commodity

Wine is a perishable commodity. Wine does not like extremes of temperature: hot humid summer and cold winter weather may adversely affect the condition of your wine during shipment. Caldwell Family Vines is not responsible for and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment. When your wine order is picked up by the common carrier for delivery, responsibility for the wine becomes the responsibility of the purchaser.
